1. Acceptance of Terms

By using any 186networks service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Service Terms ("Terms"), our Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, and any other policies referenced herein. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

186networks provides high-speed internet access via:

  • Slashband Fiber: Fiber optic internet with symmetrical speeds up to 1 Gbps (and multi-gigabit options coming soon in select areas).
  • Slashband Wireless: Fixed microwave wireless broadband with speeds up to 75 Mbps download / 25 Mbps upload (varies by location and signal).
  • VoIP Phone Service: Residential ($30/month per line) and business cloud-hosted PBX ($15/month base + $15/extension).
  • eFax Service: Email-based faxing ($10/month residential, $15/month business).

All internet plans include unlimited data with no throttling or caps. Actual speeds may vary based on location, equipment, network conditions, and other factors.

3. Billing & Payment

You agree to pay all charges for the Service, including monthly recurring fees, installation fees (if applicable), equipment fees, taxes, and regulatory/911 fees. Billing is monthly in advance. Late payments may incur fees. We may suspend or terminate service for non-payment after notice.

4. Term & Termination

Most residential services are month-to-month with no long-term contract. Business services may have different terms. Either party may terminate with 30 days' notice. We may terminate immediately for violation of these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.

5. Equipment & Installation

We provide necessary equipment (ONT for fiber, antenna/modem for wireless) at no extra cost for standard installations. Customers are responsible for equipment damage due to misuse or negligence. Standard installation is included in most areas; additional fees may apply for non-standard work (quoted in advance).

6. Network Management & Open Internet

See our Open Internet Disclosures for details on network management practices, performance characteristics, and commercial terms. We do not engage in paid prioritization or blocking of lawful content.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of service.

8. Limitation of Liability

186networks is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the preceding 12 months.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Important: These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes. Check this page periodically for updates.
